Security Media Publishing merged with TheSecurityCatalogue.com in 2014, TheSecurityCatalogue.com provides a range of proactive business development services for its member companies, including marketing and contract tenders information.
This merger resulted in increased management resources, with Philip Ingram, MBE, from TheSecurityCatalogue being appointed Managing Director and Peter Mawson, Commercial Director, managing the commercial development of Security Media Publishing.
TheSecurityCatalogue’s services are a welcome addition to the Security Media Publishing portfolio of products (which includes websites, magazines, video production and email marketing services), creating a one-stop solution for business development services throughout the global security industry.
Philip Ingram brought The Security Catalogue into Security Media Publishing having set it up from scratch. After a long and senior career in the British military he has worked in the steel industry as a Sales and Marketing Director and run his own business development consultancy. Philip was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty in 1996 and has other military awards. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and has written several articles for their regional publications.

Peter is the driving force behind Security Media’s commercial relationship management and is a seasoned business development and media professional with over 15 years experience in media and commerce. From a career that began in the music industry in the UK, Peter has worked to grow bands, magazines and businesses. Over the last 15 years in the security sector he has developed high profile initiatives and worked behind the scenes with key clients to expand markets. Clients like Sony, Panasonic, JVC, and Tyco (among many others) have collaborated to achieve their business objectives. Peter is also a member of the Company of Security Professionals whose aims are to create and nurture a culture that secures the principles which protect people, property and liberty.

Tom has over 15 years experience reporting on the security industry. He was the launch editor of Security Management Today (SMT) magazine and SecurityPark.net. He launched Security Voice on behalf of the Joint Security Industry Council (JSIC) and CCTV Image magazine on behalf of the CCTV User Group. He organised the first ever Security Excellence Awards while editor of SMT and has sat on the judging panel for the IFSEC industry awards. He has been interviewed in national media for major newspapers, radio and television. He spends most of his time at his computer trying to keep abreast of a rapidly moving and developing industry.

As Creative Director Mak determines the best way to visually represent the company’s identity, both online and offline and is responsible for spotting, developing and deploying ideas into the global market using tools such as social media marketing. He has over 10 years experience in design, with a degree in Graphic Design and has worked on projects for universities, small businesses and charities. In addition, Mak is the Creative Director of Creative Astro, which covers all aspects of design from branding to film, and has also established a number of successful companies including Mak Training, Creative Astro and The Security Catalogue – which is now part of Security Media Publishing.
